What is Rent Protection?
Rent Protection is an insurance product that pays the rent if your tenant defaults. For further information speak to us on 020 3589 0490.
Can I obtain Rent Protection on DSS (Department of Social Security), Students and Unemployed Tenants?
Yes – Rent protection products are available to all individual tenants, however, where income is not sufficient to pass the reference criteria, we will require a guarantor.
How do I know if the Rent Protection has been accepted?
Passing either our Credit Check or Full Reference is an automatic acceptance of Rent Protection. Confirmation of acceptance of the Rent Protection comes in the form of the certificate of insurance that will be sent to you by email, along with the Final Report.
Can I add Rent Protection to a property after the reference has been accepted?
Yes – A policy can be assigned up to 14 days following the referencing. You can even add Rent Protection from the Final Report.
Will I have to pay for the Rent Protection if the applicant is declined for tenancy?
No – You will only be charged the fee for the reference should an application be declined.
Should I keep a copy of the application and certificate?
Yes – we recommend that you keep a copy of the certificate on file for your records; you are also able to download a copy from your online account.
Can I cancel the Rent Protection on my application?
Yes – Any Rent Protection policy can be cancelled within 28 days from commencement. However, the standard charge for the Credit Check or Full Reference reference will be made.
When do I pay for the reference and Rent Protection policy?
dela Management will send you an invoice by the 10th of the month following your orders, with full payment to be made within 18 days of the date of invoice. On January 10th, for example, you will receive the invoice for the references and Rental Protection policies ordered in December with payment due no later than 28th January. If payment is not received by the due date, then The Rent Protection Policy will be automatically cancelled and you will be liable for the reference charge plus a £10 administration fee per unpaid Rental Protection Policy.
